Violectra pickups are made embedding piezo element transducers in a maple wood bridge. The piezos have a high impedance output in megaohms and need to be pre-amplified.

Most performance use is covered by using an “acoustic” amplifiers , which have preamps on board with a gain input control. An “acoustic ” amplifier is design to have an input channel that matches the high impedance output from the piezo bridge .   Most “acoustic” amplifiers will also have an  input gain (along with EQ preamp) to balance the amount of signal that is fed into the amplifier, as well as a master volume out.

We would recommend  that an active DI or preamp is used before recording through a desk , to buffer the instrument sound. The desk inputs are suited to microphone or line level outputs  and will not match the high impedance of piezo pickup.

You will find a range of pick-ups and amplifiers, wireless systems on our shop website
